BROMO VOLCANO AND MOUNT ARGOPURO TREKKING

START/FINISH: SURABAYA AIRPORT

For residents of Bromo Tengger tribe, Mount Brahma or Bromo (2.392 asl) is believed to be a sacred mountain. Once a year the ceremony Tengger Yadnya Kasada or Kasodo. The ceremony was held at a temple located at the foot of Mount Bromo and proceed north to the top of Mount Bromo. The ceremony was held at midnight to early morning every full moon around 14 or 15 in Kasodo (according to the Javanese calendar).

Mount Argapuro (3,088 asl), is a volcano that is no longer active. Including part of the mountain Hyang and has the longest track on the island of Java (approximately 60 km route length). There is the rest of the royal buildings, lakes and former military airbase former World War 2.

DAY 01 : SURABAYA ARRIVAL - CEMORO LAWANG

Arrive at Juanda airport Surabaya and transfer to Cemoro Lawang Bromo. Overnight at a hotel (L, D)

DAY 02 : CEMORO LAWANG - PANANJAKAN - BROMO - PAITON

Start around 03.30 AM, by Jeep 4WD we’re cross the Sand Field at the height (2.100 asl) goes to Mount Pananjakan (2.770 asl) for watching the sunrise and panorama Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Then with ride a horse we’re visiting Bromo volcano (2.392 asl) and Pura Luhur Poten that the place for prayer of the Hindu Tengger society. After breakfast, check out from a hotel and transfer to Paiton. Overnight at a hotel (B, L, D)

DAY 03 : PAITON - KSDA BADERAN - CIKASUR

After breakfast around 07.00 AM, transfer to KSDA Baderan (787 asl). After the permit process at the conservation office, begin trekking in the mountains Hyang. A break in a small square and lunch. Broad meadow in the afternoon encounter. Sometimes there can be seen a peacock, deer and wild boar. Overnight in Cikasur (2.215 asl), a former military base during World War 2. (B, L, D)

Day 04 : CIKASUR - CISENTOR

After packing and breakfast, trekking back across the grass plains, before entering into the trees vegetation. Cisentor a street meeting between Baderan and Bremi. There is a clear river here. Overnight in tent. (B, L, D)

Day 05 : CISENTOR – PUNCAK RENGGANIS – DANAU TAMAN HIDUP

Start around 04.00 AM. Summit attack around 3 hours. After going through a dry crater, arriving at the summit Argopuro (3.088 asl). Here are the rest of the castle ruins of the highest in Indonesia. Back to Cisentor, packing and down to Taman Hidup Lake (1.960 asl). Overnight in tent. (B, L, D)

Day 06 : DANAU TAMAN HIDUP – BREMI – SURABAYA

After breakfast and packing, down through the East (Route Bremi). By car transfer to Surabaya, lunch is served on the way. End program. (B, L)
