ORANGUTAN WILDLIFE EXPLORE AT EAST KALIMANTAN

DAY 01 : BALIKPAPAN - SAMARINDA - SANGATTA

Arrive at Sepinggan airport (Balikpapan, East Kalimantan), by private car transfer to Sangatta via Samarinda as far as 280 km. Lunch at local restaurat in Samarinda. Arrive at Sangatta (where there is the largest coal mine in Kalimantan), overnight at hotel. (L, D)

DAY 02 : SANGATTA - PREVAB MENTOKO

After breakfast, transfer to at small port. Then by motorized canoe for 1 hours to Prevab Mentoko which is rain forest and be a part of the Kutai National Park area. Be careful with your part of your body, there are a lot of crocodile in Sangatta river. In the afternoon trekking into the rainforest to observe orangutans and the other wildlife. Overnight at lodge. DAY 03 : PREVAB MENTOKO TREKKING - SANGATTA

Observation of a full day in the rainforest. Kutai National Park has an area of more than 198.629 hektar consists of primary rain forest, swamps, and mangroves. Trekking into the rain forest to see wild orangutans in their habitat, and various other animals typical of Kalimantan directly in the wild. Back to Sangatta late afternoon and overnight at the hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 04 : SANGATTA - SAMARINDA - SAMBOJA LODGE

After breakfast, at 08.00 AM transfer to Samboja Lodge via Samarinda as far as 250 km. Lunch at the local restaurant at Samarinda, that’s a city located in the Mahakam river. Arrival at Samboja Lodge and overnight. (B, L, D)

DAY 05 : SAMBOJA LODGE - ORANGUTAN OBSERVE - BANGKIRAY HILL (RETURN)

Full trekking to plant the fruit trees to support the foundation for supply of food the future for the orang utans. Observe the Orang Utan around the lodge, and also the other animals. This area is strictly for the orang utans survival foundation, now at Samboja Lodge has about 210 orangutans that have been released into 6 islands around lodge. After Lunch go to Bukit Bangkiray for observing rainforest jungle trekking enjoy canopy bridge, if enough time enjoy canoe trip for observing proboscis monkey. Rest and overnight at lodge. (B, L, D)

DAY 06 : SAMBOJA LODGE - BALIKPAPAN AIRPORT

Trekking around the lodge, after breakfast at 09.00 AM, transfer to Sepinggan airport Balikpapan, next destination. (B)
